Chant Engineering Co. Inc. is proud to announce the launch of its new combination Reel Flipping and Payout Machine for rigging shops. Designed for operator safety and shop efficiency during the reel handling and rope payout process, this unique machine comes in three capacities: 5,000 lb., 10,000 lb. and 20,000 lb. Custom machine sizes are also available.
Most rigging shops stack their reels of wire rope on the flange side of the reel to minimize the floor space used for material stock. However, to payout lengths of rope, the reels must be flipped over so that the reel can go on a payout machine or stand. Small reels can be handled by the operators, but the large reels are typically pushed over using a forklift, which is very dangerous for the shop personnel (imagine pushing over a ten- or twenty-thousand-pound reel!) and can damage the reels.
This new machine’s robust design allows for easy and secure flipping of heavy wire rope reels, eliminating manual lifting and flipping and reduces the risk of accidents, thereby ensuring a safer workplace environment. The machine is engineered to accommodate various reel sizes and types, making it adaptable to a wide range of wire rope applications.
